Harvest

Harvest Assemblies, students and staff at The de Ferrers Academy collect donations of food for the Harvest celebration.

Every year at the Harvest Assemblies, students and staff at The de Ferrers Academy collect donations of food for the Harvest celebration. All donations collected by the students on Trent campus are given to the YMCA and those that are collected by the students on Dove campus are given to the Salvation Army. The food that is collected goes towards their food bank, which gives out food to those in need. This year, students competed for house points for the most amount of food collected.

House Leader, Ashley Williams commented “At The de Ferrers Academy we teach our students to follow our PRIDE values which include being part of a wider community and at times there are people within that group who may need our help. After a series of assemblies to highlight the local support available to help young people and families who have fallen on hard times we would like to thank all of our students, parents and staff for generously donating to the Salvation Army and YMCA food banks”

Congratulations were in order to Tutbury for winning their Harvest collection.
