We are very pleased to inform you about our A.C.E. Days

Dear Parent /Carer and Student,

We are very pleased to inform you about our A.C.E. Days (Adventurous, Challenging, Educational Days) that will take place on Thursday 30th June and Friday 1st July 2016.

On these days, all of Year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 students will have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of enjoyable sporting, creative, outdoor and educational activities based both in the Academy and off site, as the Academy timetable is suspended for two days.

We have worked hard to build on the successes of the previous A.C.E. Days to make sure that we offer a wide range of events and activities which challenge, stimulate and educate our students, whilst providing excellent value for money. Our hope is that all students will have the opportunity to participate in an activity or experience that is new to them on these days. The activities will be divided into 4 distinct groups within the booklet – two-day (or more) residential trips, two-day non-residential trips, Thursday day trips and Friday day trips. Each activity is then organised into 4 other groups - platinum, gold, silver and bronze. This is determined by how adventurous, challenging and educational each activity is.

The A.C.E. Days launch to students will take place in assemblies during the week commencing Monday 29th February 2016. During the assembly students will be issued with the A.C.E. Day booklet which they will bring home for discussion with you. We are building in some “thinking time” this year, so that students have the opportunity to read the options available thoroughly and discuss with friends, family and staff before the system goes live on Monday 21st March at 7am. If you login before this date the activities will not be available to view or book. If you are unable to access Wisepay, or for queries or problems with logging in to the Wisepay system, please email office@deferrers.com stating “A.C.E. Days” as the subject to your email.

Some activities are two-day programmes, whereas others are one-day programmes and students will therefore need to select two different one-day activities if this is their preference to cover both days. One-day activities will, on most occasions, be available on both Thursday and Friday. Please ensure activities are selected on Wisepay to cover the two days and you do not sign up to two activities running on the same day!

Mr Easton (Trent) and Miss McAdam (Dove) are the staff supporting with A.C.E. Days. If you have any questions or queries regarding A.C.E. Days, please do not hesitate to contact either myself, Mr Easton or Miss McAdam at the Academy. I look forward to the A.C.E. Days offering an exciting and enjoyable programme for all students.

Yours faithfully,

Mr G. Hand
