About Us

The college has grown into a large split-site co-educational comprehensive college catering for the full range of students 11-18. There are currently 1915 students on roll, including a Sixth Form of 276, and each entry since 1985 has been oversubscribed.

The two campuses are less than one kilometre apart and the college day is punctuated by breaks, which allow time for travel between sites.

Years 7-9 are taught on the Dove Campus, situated in Harehedge Lane, and Years 10-13 on the Trent Campus, in St Mary's Drive. This allows students to gain all the advantages and opportunities available in a large college and also helps them to familiarise themselves with amenities on one campus, in the first instance.

Specialist Schools:

As a Specialist College, we are committed to:
  •  Mutual support and challenge
  •  Providing the most effective way of raising standards
  •  Innovation and Development
  •  Working with each other to share good practice
The Technology Specialism has allowed us to enhance resources and equipment and promote new technology in all areas of the curriculum. There are interactive whiteboards in all curriculum areas with internet access in all classrooms.

'The college is justifiably regarded as highly successful in its specialism of Technology. The impact of its specialist status is felt throughout the institution and the substantial investment made in new technology has made a very significant contribution to increasing the opportunities and raising the achievement of all students. The college has used its specialist status very effectively to drive its focus on personalised learning forward' - Ofsted 2008.
