International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP)
Life in the 21st Century, in an interconnected, globalized world, requires critical-thinking skills and a sense of international mindedness, something that the IBDP students learn to know and understand"
IBDP students study six courses at Higher or Standard Level. Students must choose one subject from A1 Language, Language B, Individuals and Societies, Experimental Sciences and Mathematics, thus ensuring breadth. The sixth subject may be an arts subject, or the student may choose another subject from the other groups.
IB learners strive to be inquirers, thinkers, communicators, risk takers, knowledgeable, principled, open-minded, caring, balanced and reflective. (please refer to the IB Learner Profile)
The Extended Essay (EE) is a requirement for the students to be awarded the diploma and allows them to engage in independent research through an in-depth study of a question relating to one of the subjects that they are studying.
Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Each IBDP student is encouraged to reflect on the nature of knowledge by critically examining different ways of knowing and different kinds of knowledge always considering the question How do we know?
