PSFA
UPDATE – March 2010 Our first event of 2010 was a Quiz Night on Friday 5th February at Dove. We had 28 teams playing - a mix of Adults, 6th formers and KS4 students. Quizmaster Neil Upchurch kept everyone on their toes though, with team names such as ‘Simple Minds’, ‘We Thought it was a Beach Party’ and ‘We’re Only here for the Supper’, it makes me wonder whether they really understand what a Quiz Night is all about. As it turned out the winners were ‘The Visitors’ with an exceptional score of 98, ‘The Shrimpers’ were 2nd with 88 points and ‘Must Beat Brownie’ came in at 3rd with 80 points, narrowly beating ‘Brownie’s’ team who scored 79 points!! The 6th form team winners were ‘We’re Only Here for the supper’. KS4 winners ‘We Thought it was a Beach Party’ and ‘The Jelly Babies’ walked away with the KS3 prize. Our Easter Bingo Night on 22nd March has just finished as I write this and I can confirm that 36 Easter eggs were carried off into the night by some happy bingo players which, together with a couple of cash flyers, a raffle and a fairly small turnout meant that most people were winners tonight! This was a joint fundraising effort by Tanzania 2010 and the PSFA and I would like to say thanks to all everyone who came to support the event, thanks also to the T2010 team who came along and a special thanks to Mr Brown who is very successfully exploring a second career as a bingo caller. They had better watch out down at the Mecca…. Our next event is on Thursday 29th April and this will be a Fashion Extravaganza and Pre-prom Night to be held on Trent. There will dresses, hairstylists, beauticians and accessories, jewellery and shoes, catwalk shows as well as fashions for the mums, there may even be a few tuxes for the boys! There will be a free glass of wine included in the price of the tickets which will be on sale immediately after the Easter break. For further information please contact me, care of de Ferrers reception, or ring 01283 568201. So have a lovely Easter, enjoy your chocolate Easter eggs and hope to see you on the 29th. Anita McLean
