16-19 Tuition Fund
16 to 19 Tuition Fund Statement
The 16 to 19 tuition fund is £96 million of one-off national funding for the 2020 to 2021 academic year only. It is ring fenced funding for schools, colleges and all other 16 to 19 providers to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus (COVID-19).
The funding is being provided to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English, Maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted. For example, vocational courses where assessment has been deferred because of lockdown.
At The de Ferrers Academy, we intend to utilise the funding to provide additional support to small groups of students that have not yet achieved a grade 4 in Maths or English. We will run a series of twilight sessions prior to GCSE English and Maths resit examinations. We will timetable sessions in addition to the planned programme of study hours already timetabled for the academic year 2020/21. The sessions will be delivered by teachers with the relevant skills and experience.
