December 2015

Message from Mr Allen

The Academy is currently in full swing with preparations for the summer exams and celebrating Christmas with everyone working flat out. This is a time when you do not suddenly add another event or change any of the routines.
However, who can turn down the Prime Minister if he asks to visit your Academy! The visit of the Prime Minister David Cameron on 7th December was a very exciting day for all involved with The de Ferrers Academy. Our selection to host the Prime Minister reflects the fantastic students, parents and carers we serve. We were selected due to our sustained successes over the last three years and recognition that de Ferrers is one of the most innovative and successful Academies in country. This is all made possible by the fantastic colleagues I have the privilege to work with every day.
However, the Prime Minister’s visit is now old news and the new buzz is linked to our students visiting the Russian Space Centre. The students fly to Moscow on Monday and have an unbelievable itinerary of visits and activities - a once in a lifetime experience. Next is the visit to Japan and ....... without doubt, The de Ferrers Academy certainly is the place to be.

Have a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all a very happy New Year.
