Head Girl: Alannah Travers
I am Alannah Travers and I am Head Girl. I am currently studying Sociology alongside a double award in Health and Social Care. In the future I hope to study Midwifery at university and eventually complete a PHD in Midwifery, specialising in either perinatal midwifery or teenage pregnancy. I also have plans to travel the world as I love to visit new countries and experience new cultures through travel. Because of this love of travel, I have aspirations to move and live in countries like America, Canada and Ireland when I am older.
Throughout my time at de Ferrers I have prospered and got involved with many activities such as being a house captain, being part of the sixth form pantomime, being involved with clubs such as Glee club and the NHS society as well as being an avid member of all three campuses through volunteering and helping out with Academy events.
Being chosen to be Head Girl is a great achievement and I am grateful for the opportunity to act as a role model for the younger students. While I am Head Girl I aim to encourage each de Ferrers student to be kind and caring to each other and build a united de Ferrers over all three sites. I also hope to showcase that I am a friendly and approachable person who is always available to help if needed. Working with the rest of the team I hope that we can create an academy that each student is proud of and feels appreciated in. I also aim to ensure that myself, and the rest of the team, have a presence across all three sites. Alongside this, I hope to use this platform to showcase that no matter what, anything is possible with hard work, commitment and self-belief.
