  • Frazer Clarke - local hero returns to de Ferrers

    Published 25/04/18

Commonwealth Gold Medallist, Frazer Clarke, returns to The de Ferrers Academy to share his most recent success on the Gold Coast with our students and some of his former teachers.

Burton-born Boxing star Frazer Clarke, a former student of the Academy, shared his experiences of representing Team England at the Commonwealth Games in Australia, spoke about his pride at winning gold and singing Jerusalem on the podium, and gave advice to students in a series of assemblies.

The event celebrates Frazer’s homecoming from the Commonwealth Games where over 350 English athletes represented their country in Australia, in the only major competition where able-bodied and disabled athletes compete alongside each other.

Team England Official Partner npower have been encouraging the nation to show the power of their support for athletes while they were competing in Australia.
