A level results 2018
Another year of record breaking results
Students and staff at The de Ferrers Academy are celebrating record success with their A level results, which show an improvement on last year’s achievements. There have been increases in both the Overall and Academic points per entry, and the vocational courses have performed above expectation, despite significant changes to the way these courses are assessed. Particularly pleasing has been the improvement in the number of students achieving top grades, including one student who achieved 4 A* grades and two who achieved 3 A* grades. Students achieved extremely well in Economics, PE, Chemistry, Sociology and Physics.
Principal, Nick Holmes, said, “I am delighted by this set of results which will see our students able to move on to their first choice university courses or take up employment. It gives us the ideal platform from which to move to the new Sixth Form campus in the centre of Burton.”
Ian McNeilly, Chief Executive of The de Ferrers Trust, said, “There are some really impressive stories of individual success which are a credit to the students, their supportive parents and, of course, the hard working teachers.”
