Faraday Challenge

National Institute For Engineering and Technology, Faraday Challenge

On Friday 31st January Granville Academy hosted the National Institute For Engineering and Technology, Faraday Challenge. This STEM competition is a national event in which teams score points. Those teams with the highest points can move on to the national final. The de Ferrers Design and Technology team consisted of eighteen Year 8 students who split into three teams to compete. On the day, each team showed creativity, inventiveness and team work as they tackled the Design challenge which was to create a prototype for an emergency relief product that would travel on the Airbus Beluga airliner when it is sent to support international disasters. The prototype had to be able to carry aid regardless of the disaster; it's soul aim was to support life. We are extremely proud to announce that all three teams out of the six teams that entered did incredibly well with Team 2 coming home with the trophy...superb day.
