Year 11 Results
Congratulations to the Class of 2020 and their excellent results!
Staff from The de Ferrers Academy, part of The de Ferrers Trust, today welcomed their year 11 students onto Dove Campus to collect their well earned GCSE results. The results reflected the hard work the cohort and their staff had put in over their time at the academy.
Some of the many outstanding individual results included Angela Alex who achieved grade 9s in all of her subjects.
Eve Swindlehurst was another of the academy’s top performing students with a clean sweep of grade 9s said “My time at de Ferrers has been absolutely amazing and I’ve loved every minute”
Another success story was David Alton who achieved well above expectations and was ecstatic with the results he received.
Chloe Mosedale was over the moon with her results and said “The support that the academy has shown has been wonderful. I want to thank all of my teachers, but especially the Support & Guidance team for all of their time and help over my GCSE years”. Chloe now goes onto the de Ferrers Sixth Form to study Psychology, English Literature and History.
The academy had already received a record number of applications to their successful sixth form centre and are delighted to be able to welcome so many students back in September to continue their studies.
Principal of the de Ferrers Academy, Kathy Hardy said: “We are incredibly proud of the class of 2020, particularly the individual successes across many subjects and ability ranges, including many of our students with additional needs. Here at the academy, we emphasise the importance of students gaining academic qualifications alongside the skills to equip them for successful futures. We are delighted to be able see students today in their allocated time slots in this most unique of years.
These results will enable the students to go pursue the next stages in their studies including apprenticeships, the armed forces and an exciting array of college courses.”
Mr Greg Hand, Vice Principal said “It has been a pleasure working with the students during their time at de Ferrers and I wish them the best of luck for the future. The commitment and dedication that they have shown to their studies, and to supporting each other, has been commendable”
