Why choose de Ferrers?

Since moving to our dedicated Sixth Form campus in September 2018 we have established a truly wonderful learning environment. The students and staff make our Sixth Form a very special place to be. Our students have high expectations of themselves and are encouraged to be the very best they can. We have created a culture of high aspirations whereby students work hard and make the most of all opportunities.

Parental Testimonial -

My daughter joined de Ferrers Sixth Form 2 years ago from a different school, which was a huge step for her as she was quite shy at the time. I can honestly say that I think it’s the best decision she has ever made. de Ferrers Sixth Form has been fantastic for her in so many ways - from changing her mind on her A level choices in her first term, to her final revision plans for her exams, the staff have been on hand with excellent advice during every step.
They have been there for her in every way - not only for her educational needs, but personally as well. It has been great to see a school that puts the person first before their grades, and really treats them as adults. All of this has led to my daughter wanting to achieve greater things for herself, and actually coming out with fantastic A level results, much better than expected.
She has now just started her journey at university, and is a much more confident and capable young woman, and I know a lot of this is because of her time at de Ferrers.
Student Testimonial -

I came to the de Ferrers Sixth Form as an external student in Year 12 and was immediately made to feel welcome by both students and staff. I currently study Maths, Physics and History which as I’m sure is the same with the majority of sixth form students, I have found very challenging. However, the support I have had from the staff at the sixth form has been exceptional; I have a mentor helping me keep on track with my History Course work, I’ve been offered the opportunity to complete an extended project qualification to give me more UCAS points and have also been offered the chance to engage in extra learning opportunities outside of school hours to support me in exams. Overall I have really enjoyed my time at the de Ferrers Sixth Form and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to study A Level’s but wants to escape the school feel by being treated like an adult.
