Internal Students - A Guide to Making Your Sixth Form Application

A guide to making YOUR sixth form application

You will be receiving a link to our online application portal on Monday 15th December. Please read through the steps below before starting your application.

  1. Check you meet our entry criteria: We will only be able to make you a conditional offer to study courses you are predicted to meet the entry criteria for. If you submit an application for a course you do not meet the entry criteria for, we will return your application to you - this will delay your application from being processed. It is worth considering some alternative options in case you do not meet our entry requirements. Please be aware that you will receive your next academic summary and PPE results in January - you may wish to wait for this academic summary if you think your predicted grades will have improved.

  1. Check the subject pool sheet: You can only select one subject from each pool. Please check the pool sheet carefully as the more popular subjects can be found in more than one pool. You need to select 3 subjects (or equivalent).

  1. Check your subject choices will support your future plans: Some careers or university courses require specific qualifications, which you can check on Unifrog. For others, you may have greater flexibility, so focus on subjects you enjoy and excel in. Consider how your choices build transferable skills like critical thinking and communication. If unsure, seek guidance from teachers, a careers advisor, or Unifrog.

  1. Complete your application via our online portal: Once you have received your next academic summary, you will be emailed a link to our online admissions portal so you can complete your application.

  1. Submit your application by Friday 30th January: Applications received by this date will be processed promptly, and you can expect to hear back from us by the end of February. Submissions after the deadline will still be reviewed, but processing times may be longer, and your choice of available subjects could be reduced.
