APPLE RTC - REGIONAL TRAINING CENTRE

Background:

The Burton-On-Trent Apple Regional Training Centre (RTC) opened at The de Ferrers Academy Trent Campus in September 2013 and during the last 8 years, over 2500 educators from across the UK and Europe have visited and taken part in our free workshops. We have also run bespoke workshops at several Midland schools, for Initial Teacher Education students at The University of Nottingham and The University of Derby and for groups of teachers from Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, The Netherlands, Vietnam and Hong Kong.

Apple Regional Training Centres deliver courses to build the skills and confidence of educators to use Apple technology inside and outside the classroom. We are a community who share best practices and inspire excellence through teaching with Apple technology. Best of all, every workshop is free.

All of our workshops are run by highly experienced teachers and focus on learning and pedagogy with digital tools, not just the technical aspects, drawing on over 10 years of running a successful 1:1 iPad programme. Our trainers are all Apple Teachers and include 2 Apple Distinguished Educators and an Apple Professional Learning Specialist.

Several of the new courses and workshops are designed to help attendees with earning their badges towards gaining official Apple Teacher status (to find out more about Apple Teacher, please visit:  https://www.apple.com/uk/education/apple-teacher/ ).

Workshops are open to anyone involved in education, including school leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, ICT technicians, support staff and student teachers.

All delegates will be encouraged to bring their own iPad, so that we can share workshop resources,  although we can provide an iPad with apps pre-installed for anyone that does not have one.

All workshops will take place at The de Ferrers Academy, Burton-On-Trent, on either Trent Campus,  (DE13 0LL) or the new Sixth Form Campus (DE14 2NJ).

Webinars will usually take place online using Zoom, so delegates can take part from anywhere in the world.
